As part of the MoU the company will use the robotic system developed at the IIT Madras for diagnosing faults in the high-temperature steel pipelines in the refineries of the company.
According to the Dean of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research at the IIT Madras Krishnan Balasubramaniam, the reason why the company wants the assistance of IIT madras is that the cost of bringing in the foreign experts runs into several crores of rupees.
